Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how IntimaVault (“we,” “us,” or “the App”) handles information. IntimaVault is a private intimacy and wellness journaling app designed so that your journal content is not collected by us.
1. Our privacy promise
- There is no IntimaVault account.
- We do not operate a company backend that receives your journal entries, partner notes, health notes, photos, or videos.
- We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or third-party trackers.
- Your data stays on your device by default.
- Optional sync uses only your personal Apple iCloud private CloudKit database tied to your Apple ID — never a public or shared CloudKit database, and never servers we control.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the App, the following may be stored locally on your iPhone or iPad:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Journal content | Entries, notes, moods, tags, activity types, ratings, dates, optional location text |
| Partner profiles | Nicknames, optional contact fields you choose to save, notes, photos |
| Health notes | Personal reminders and notes you enter (not medical advice) |
| Media | Photos/videos you attach (photos are re-encoded to strip location/EXIF metadata by default) |
| App preferences | Appearance, lock settings, discreet icon choice, sync toggle, calendar preferences |
| Security secrets | Optional duress PIN and encryption-related keys stored in the iOS Keychain |
We apply iOS file protection to the App’s store and media files so that, when your device is locked, protected files are inaccessible.
3. Optional iCloud Sync (Apple, not IntimaVault)
If you enable iCloud Sync (a Premium feature):
- Synced data is stored in your Apple iCloud private CloudKit database.
- Sync is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy terms and your Apple ID settings.
- IntimaVault developers cannot read your private CloudKit journal content.
- Turning sync off stops further CloudKit sync; local data remains on your device unless you delete it.
If you do not enable sync, journal data does not leave your device via IntimaVault features (except when you explicitly export or share a backup).
4. Purchases (Apple)
Premium subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple may provide limited purchase entitlement information solely to unlock Premium features on your device. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
5. Permissions we may request
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Face ID / Touch ID | Optional app lock (biometrics stay on-device via Apple’s LocalAuthentication) |
| Photo Library | Optional attachments to entries / partner photos |
| Contacts | Optional import of fields you select into a partner profile |
| Notifications | Optional private health reminders (you can hide sensitive previews in Settings) |
6. Privacy screen, screenshots, and discreet mode
- When the App is inactive, an opaque privacy cover hides journal content in the App Switcher.
- If a screenshot is taken while using the App, we may show an on-device warning. We do not receive or upload that screenshot.
- Discreet Mode can change the Home Screen icon appearance. iOS does not allow apps to rename the App Store listing or fully hide the app.
7. Export and delete
- Export / backup (Premium): You can export your data (including media). Exported photos are stripped of location/EXIF metadata by default.
- Delete: Deleting entries removes them from local storage and securely deletes associated media. With iCloud Sync enabled, related CloudKit media assets are also removed when possible. Uninstalling without a backup or sync may permanently delete local data.
8. Children’s privacy
IntimaVault is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region).
9. Data we do not collect
We do not collect for our own servers: journal text or media; advertising identifiers for tracking; or analytics events about App usage. App Store “App Privacy” disclosures should reflect Data Not Collected for developer-collected categories. Optional iCloud storage is under your Apple account.
10. Third-party services
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — purchases and entitlements
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit — optional private sync you enable
- Apple LocalAuthentication — biometric / device passcode unlock
We do not integrate third-party analytics, ads, or social SDKs.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
